Talking to children about death

At an early age they will form their own beliefs around it, with many accepting that it is permanent and happens to us all. Inevitable as it is, death and talking about it remains one of the most taboo subjects for a parent. We cannot protect our children from death. It is something they will be exposed to on a regular basis; whether on the news, in films, an animal on the side of the road or the loss of a family pet or much loved grandparent. Talking to our children about death can help us ascertain what they know and understand, their fears and worries. Create an environment where children feel comfortable to discuss their feelings and concerns. It
