Teach your child inner calm in 2 minutes

Finding some inner peace and calm is often on peoples to do lists but rarely achieved. Life is only getting busier and more demanding, and for some, there is no escape from social media and social pressure. The ability to switch off the mind, rest and recharge is a much needed skill among our children. Children are incredibly receptive to games and stories and love to process the world around them metaphorically. One super easy way to get your child into a calm state is to ‘ground’ them. What is mindfulness?

  Mindfulness: noun :    a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. As a parent you will be acutely aware that your children have an amazing ability to feed off your energy, to know when to press your buttons and to pick up on anxieties. It is no surprise then that if you want your children to feel relaxed, present and centred you will need to lead from the front and go there first! There are easy ways to do this and you will feel immense benefit too. Mindfulness is not just a new age buzz word reserved for the yoga elite. It is a
